LANGUAGE AND LITERACY
Our Language Arts programme focuses on developing strong foundations in communication and comprehension. Children gradually build six key skills:
Reading and story time are an essential part of the classroom experience, helping children develop vocabulary, imagination, and a natural interest in language.
Sight words are introduced early to help expand their word bank and strengthen fluency.
Phonics is introduced to support early reading. Instead of memorising words, children learn to recognise sounds and use them as cues to read with confidence. Through play-based activities and engaging exercises, reading and writing become both easy and enjoyable.
NUMERACY
In our classrooms, children are introduced to numbers through engaging activities such as songs, games, and hands-on exploration. They work with manipulatives that help them see, touch, and concretely understand concepts.
A multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary approach further supports learning, helping children connect numerical ideas to their natural and social environment. This ensures that concepts are understood meaningfully rather than memorised.
SOCIO-EMOTIONAL LEARNING
Socio-Emotional Learning is an integral part of our curriculum, supporting positive behaviour and overall academic growth. Children are guided to understand their emotions, build relationships, and develop confidence in expressing themselves.
